Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our services and how we work.

We work with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and hybrid/on-premises infrastructure. We're cloud-agnostic and design solutions that map to your specific strategic and operational needs, rather than optimizing for a particular vendor. Our experience spans greenfield projects and multi-cloud migrations.
Engagements are typically scoped as fixed-length projects (8–14 weeks for most work), but we're flexible. Many clients choose advisory relationships, ongoing optimization, or managed services after initial engagements. Contract terms are negotiable and depend on your needs. We'll never lock you in to a contract that doesn't match your situation.
Engagements follow a simple pattern: Map (we assess your current state), Build (we design and implement improvements), and Strengthen (we transfer knowledge and ensure your team owns the result). We embed with your team, so you learn as we work. Deliverables include architecture documentation, runbooks, automation code, and training.
Yes, Kubernetes is a core part of our platform engineering practice. We design Kubernetes clusters, build platforms on top of Kubernetes, and help teams adopt container orchestration confidently. We also work with teams not ready for Kubernetes yet, and help assess whether it's the right choice for your business.
Yes. We help teams migrate from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native platforms, move between cloud providers, or shift from VMs to containers. Migrations are risky and time-consuming; we reduce risk through careful planning, phased execution, and parallel running of systems during transition.
During implementation, we embed with your team (on-site or remote). We write code together, review your team's work, pair on operational procedures, and gradually hand off ownership. We're not an outsourced team; we're here to strengthen your team's capability.
Timeframes vary. Advisory engagements: 4–6 weeks. Platform design and MVP: 8–14 weeks. Larger implementations or modernizations: 16+ weeks. We scope work carefully upfront and provide regular status updates. Scope changes are managed transparently.
Yes. After an engagement, some clients choose ongoing support arrangements where we monitor infrastructure, respond to incidents, and advise on operational decisions. Managed services models are custom. Discuss with your engagement director if you're interested.
Absolutely. We design and implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Pulumi, or other tools. We establish version control, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and state management practices. IaC is a best practice we bring to nearly every engagement.
We assess security posture, design controls for SOC 2/HIPAA/PCI DSS, implement encryption and secrets management, build audit logging, and prepare for regulatory audits. Security is built into every engagement; we don't treat it as a separate project.
Cost is always a valid concern. We help teams reduce cloud spend through right-sizing, auto-scaling, commitment planning, and waste elimination. We also help you forecast costs accurately so budget surprises disappear. Talk to us about your budget constraints; we'll scope work accordingly.
We believe in knowledge transfer. We pair program, document decisions, run workshops, and write clear runbooks. By the end of an engagement, your team should feel confident operating and evolving the infrastructure we've built. We're not building black boxes.
Many of our clients have small teams or limited cloud experience when we start. That's exactly what we help with. We ramp teams up on cloud concepts, infrastructure patterns, and operational practices. We scale the engagement pace to match your team's capacity to learn.
